native-seam only — the real expo package (DeviceAttestBase + the platform-selected ReactNativeDeviceAttest subclass) runs unchanged from the bundle. sootsim provides the ReactNativeDeviceAttest expo module. its iOS native side (ReactNativeDeviceAttestModule.swift) defines only getDeviceCheckToken, and Apple's DeviceCheck is unavailable on a simulator (DCDevice.current.isSupported === false), so the seam rejects with code DEVICECHECK_NOT_SUPPORTED and message 'DeviceCheck is not supported on this device' — the exact behavior a real iOS simulator produces. apps that catch that code take their unsupported branch.
