native-seam only — upstream entry is `const { create } = NativeModules.CreateThumbnail; export default CreateThumbnail` and runs from the bundle. sootsim provides the CreateThumbnail TurboModule with browser-equivalent frame extraction: loads the source as an HTMLVideoElement, seeks to the requested timeStamp, paints the frame onto a canvas at the requested maxWidth/maxHeight (aspect-preserving downscale) and encodes as data:image/<format>. caches by cacheName (or url+timestamp) so re-requests return the same data URI without re-decoding. apps that fetch from a CORS-friendly source get real thumbnail bytes; hostile-origin sources fall through to a shape-correct placeholder.
